Fun Things To Do Over Winter Break

With more than a week left until winter break, there is no doubt that students are excited. But with that comes one question, what is there to do in those twelve days? While there are numerous things you could do, here are six fun activities to do over the break.

Everyone loves sweet treats, so what better way to spend your break than to bake some cookies with your friends and family? After you bake them, you can decorate them too or just eat them plain. Either way, there is no doubt that everyone will enjoy spending time with their loved ones and eating something sweet.

While you are enjoying your cookies, you can also spend your time binging Christmas movies with your friends and family. Watching your favorite Christmas movies while bundled up with a mug of hot chocolate and some treats is a fantastic way to spend these chilly days. It is a quick way to pass the time and fun for everyone.

If spending your time inside does not sound ideal to you, do not fret! There are plenty of fun ways to spend your time outside over break. One of which is the Chinese Lantern Festival. With over forty new displays and amazing performances, the Chinese Lantern Festival is something you do not want to miss. This event takes place at Cary’s Koka Booth Amphitheatre from December 14th to January 8th. For more information, you can find the official website here

Another event that you do not want to miss is the Apex Chanukah Festival. The Apex Chanukah Festival takes place on December 18th in Downtown Apex. From 3:00 to 5:00pm there is a Chanukah Wonderland for kids of all ages. The Chanukah Wonderland includes crafts and games for the holiday. At 5:15pm, Mayor Jacques Gilbert will light the shamash on the menorah. For more details on the event, you can visit the official website here.

If you want to do something outside of your house, but do not want to walk around in the cold, the Christmas lights on Holt Road are a must-see. Not only can you see the lights in the comfort of your car, but this lights display is gorgeous and definitely something you will not regret. There is no admission fee and is completely free for viewers of all ages. The entire house is decorated from head-to-toe in brilliant lights.
