How to Destress during Quarantine

Stress is a normal thing that many people struggle with on a daily basis. Although stress is completely normal, accumulating a large amount of stress isn’t healthy. It’s damaging to one’s health and can affect their everyday life. Stress is different for everyone and different amounts affect people differently. Even small amounts of stress can deal greatly with certain people. That’s perfectly fine. It’s finding the way to get rid of that stress that more matters deeply. Getting rid of stress can be done with simple everyday things, and you can even get creative to rid yourself of it. With quarantine going on for so long, it’s only normal that one’s stress can pile up and overcome them. There are many ways for you to just kick back and relax, getting rid of all that stress.

With staying at home, you can find many simple things to help with relieving the stress and tension. One of many choices is just to sit back and read a book. Find a comfortable spot within your house, free from any distractions. Changing up the scenery can also help you; maybe sit outside in your yard, if it’s a nice day. Open a window, close the curtains, sit on the floor, or maybe go to a place you normally don’t. Any change can help; as long as you’re comfortable, you can relax. Another option is to color. Coloring can be a great way to destress; you can let your creativity flow. This helps to relax your mind and just indulge yourself in your free time. You can make your picture your own. You can also color with other people within your household. Invite them to color along with you, or try to make a picture together. When you color, you can try to make new things, play coloring games, even guessing games with what you choose to draw. Try different colors, different patterns, even different types of coloring. There are so many things you can try; don’t be afraid to get out of your comfort zone.
MEDITATION-
A third option is meditation; this can put you in a relaxed state of mind. It can clear your head of anything that’s bothering you. This helps you fall into a state of pure relaxation, so you can rid the stress in your mind. Feel the stress slowly leave your mind and body. You can even play some soft music in the background so your mind can go completely blank. Having some tea before or after could also help if you enjoy it. This can also help you relax and amplify the feeling of your meditation. Try out some new poses for the way you do your meditation; you can even try different types of meditation. Find the right type just for you so you can get the most relaxation possible.
CHANGE OF ENVIRONMENT-
A great choice is to simply change your environment. With a new environment you can get a different point of view on everything. Having a different view, it helps to clear your head. Maybe seeing a stream or a body of water can relax you. Hearing the sounds of nature can calm and soothe you. There are many different types of scenery that you can explore from. Finding something that suits and relaxes you. Getting away from loud sounds into a quiet nature can also change your state of mind. With a change of the environment, you can simply relieve a lot of stress that’s been built up.
There are many ways you can destress. Sometimes you just have to find the one that suits you the best. This can take some time, so be patient with the process of finding the right one for you. It’s going to be a trial and error; that’s perfectly okay! Everyone is different, everyone’s stress is different. No one knows you better than yourself. So allow different choices to arise and try them. The main thing is to relieve yourself of the piles of stress, so you can continue to live a happy, less stressful life.
