Meet Mrs. George

Apex High has gotten multiple new teachers this years.One of those is Mrs. George, a new science teacher and I had a great opportunity to get to interview her!
Q:What’s your name?
A:”Rebecca George”
Q:Where are you from?
A:“I’m from Richmond.”
Q:Where did you go to college?
A:“I went to Virginia Tech.”
Q:Are you married and do you have any kids?
A:“I am married, and I have two kids, a ten-year-old and a thirteen-year-old.”
Q:What other jobs did you have before teaching?
A:“When I was in college, I worked at a Boy Scout camp and did white water rafting and stuff like that, but I’ve pretty much only been a teacher.”
Q:Did you work at any other school before Apex and where?
A:“So I worked at a couple high schools in Richmond before we moved down here, and then I worked at Salem Middle for a while.”
Q:What made you want to be a teacher/who inspired you?
A:“My mom was a teacher, so that helped, and my third grade teacher helped me a lot.”
Q:What made you choose your science in particular?
A:“I have always been a science dork and was always drawn to it.”
Q:If you could have any other career, what would it be and why?
A:“I’ve always wanted to be a marine biologist. I always thought it would be fun to study.”
Q:What are some of your pet peeves in the classroom?
A:“I hate it when students line up at the door.”
Q:What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?:
A:“I like to read, and I like to bake, but I don’t get to do either one very often.”
