Meet new ESL teacher Mrs. Parti!
I interviewed Mrs. Parti. She is an ESL teacher at Apex High School.
Q: Where are you from?
A:I am from India. I grew up in a small town in the mountains in North India.
Q: Where did you go to school and what are your degrees?
A:I went to a Convent School and then moved to Delhi (Capital of India) for my College. I have a Bachelor’s and a Masters degree in English.
Q:Are you single or married? Do you have kids/pets?
A:I am married and have two daughters. Both of them have graduated from Carolina.
Q:Why did you become a teacher?
A:Because it is challenging and it is rewarding to see how you can make a difference in your student’s life.
Q:Why did you choose your subject area?
A:I like interacting with people from different cultures, and it is rewarding to see the students learn the language.
Q:What are your thoughts about Apex so far? Likes, dislikes, etc.
A:It is a friendly place to work.
Q:How does Apex compare to other schools you’ve taught at?
A:I was at Enloe for nine years, and I’ve been at Apex for a week so it is hard to compare.
Q:What are your hobbies?
A: I like to read and travel.
Q:What were you like as a student?
A:I was shy and an average student.
Q:What advice would you give students?
A:Work hard and use your time productively.
Q:If you weren’t teaching, what would you be doing?
A:I have been teaching for twenty years and cannot think of any other place other than a classroom.
