Snow White Review
Snow White is a beloved fairytale classic that was made into a live-action movie. was made by Disney for a budget of two hundred and nine million dollars with an ensemble cast, which includes Rachel Zegler, Gal Gadot, Andrew Burnap, Martin Klebba and Ansu Kabia. It was originally named Snow White And The Seven Dwarves, which was remade in the live-action movie to decrease the length. The shooting took close to six months to complete and took place in various locations, such as London, Buckinghamshire in England and Germany. It was directed by Marc Webb and produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Marc Platt Productions. The film has a span of one hour and forty nine minutes and was a live-action musical reimagining of the original.
Snow White is the story of how an evil queen who runs a fascist regime, tries to kill Snow White, as she is deemed fairer than her. It follows how Snow White escapes from her clutches and the adventures she faces out in the world. Then, it follows how Snow White uses her kindness and resilience to defeat the Evil Queen and bring peace to her kingdom.
I would consider this movie to be average. I liked how they had a main focus on teenagers while retaining the original, as it has fun, fantasy like elements that does not contain any explicit vulgar scenes. Apex High students can definitely enjoy this movie, as they are still young and are teenagers. An Apex High Schooler named Kayla said, ¨I like Disney movies and still watch them all the time,¨ this shows how teenagers are technically only kids and fantasy elements still appeal to them. The settings were extremely beautiful in the movie, it had magnificent visuals, strikingly attractive costumes and a great theme of ¨always spreading love and being kind.¨ Despite all this, there are major drawbacks in the film, which could have been changed in my opinion. The story would have been more interesting, if they had replaced the incessant singing with some action scenes, or meaningful conversations. They could have replaced the computer generated imagery(CGI) dwarves with actual short people, avoided the unnecessary wokeism and included some action scenes in the end to be more appealing, as the movie had a lackluster climax.
I would definitely recommend Apex High students to watch this movie, as it is a fun, fantasy film for teenagers. Students in high school are teenagers, so they are technically still kids. They would still have an inclination towards animation and fantasy movies over watching rated movies. Snow White will be appealing to them, as it contains fantasy, fun elements, adventure and grandeur, which will certainly be pleasing to watch. Moreover, it is reviving an evergreen, all time favorite classic, so fans of the original and fans of Disney, will certainly have a great time watching the movie. Although, I would say it is a mediocre movie, it is still definitely worth a one time watch.
