Morgan’s Senior sign-off

“Courage is the most important of all the virtues because without courage you can’t practice any other virtue consistently. You can practice any virtue erratically, but nothing consistently without courage” Maya Angelou. Courage, a word that once sent shivers down my spine giving me instant anxiety and sending fear through my body. As a freshman I truly believed courage was restrained for the fearless… until I truly understood courage was never about being fearless, but it was about acknowledging your fears and refusing to let it dictate your life.

My name is Morgan Dundas, and I am a senior here at Apex High School. And this spring semester I decided to take Newspaper. I have always loved writing, and

I have always liked writing and being creative, but this class has made me LOVE it. It was so new to me and was a challenge more than a lecture. Taking this class based on impulse was 100% worth it, I can say. Not only did I improve so much in so many fields, but this class was definitely the highlight of my senior year genuinely. Mrs. McGee always greeted us with a warm smile and was eager to help whenever it was needed.

Throughout my years here at Apex High I have truly found myself as well as an amazing community who I know will always be here to support me through whatever. Despite this school being so large, I still find myself being uplifted, supported, and loved wherever I step.  Apex has not only taught me to see the light, but it also taught me to truly BE the light despite being in darkness.  Now that graduation is right around the corner, my time in Apex is coming to an end. As terrifying as it may seem, I’ve  learned to see it as an honor. I am so confident in the person I am today, and I’m extremely thankful for the guidance and love I’ve received here.

In the fall I will be attending Guilford College with a major in nursing and a minor in media studies.  And I can definitely say that Ms. McGee really inspired me to take it head strong!

“Now go, and make interesting mistakes, make amazing mistakes, make glorious and fantastic mistakes. Break rules. Leave the world more interesting for your being here.” —Neil Gaiman
