Lake Gaston is located on the border of North Carolina and Virginia. It is a great place to visit. The lake itself offers loads of activities, such as boating, kayaking, fishing, or just swimming! Lake Gaston allows homes to be built on the shoreline and is a popular place for building homes and having property. 

There are currently over 150 rental properties to stay at. Another option for vacationing is at a campground. Lake Gaston Americamps is a waterfront campground that allows you to set up a tent, or park an RV on the property. The campground offers built in activities and accommodations as well.

The lake is considered a great place to retire based on its laid-back lifestyle and friendly environment. But if you are looking for more upbeat activities, jet skiing and tubing are great! If you own your own vehicle, there are public access points to put your boat or jet ski in. If you don’t own your own motor vehicle, there are plenty of places that allow you to rent a jet ski or a boat for a few hours. 

One activity to visit by boat is Eaton’s Ferry Marina. Besides getting gas for your jet ski or boat, you can shop at the indoor store! You can enjoy a fresh scoop of ice cream, ready to melt in your mouth, or purchase other food like burgers. You could also feed the fish and carp off of the dock.

Shady Shack Bar and Grill offers great food and a great view. Another destination would be Lake Gaston Pizza. Although this isn’t located on the water, you can still enjoy a delicious slice of pizza by driving or get it delivered to you.

Overall, Lake Gaston offers so many activities for a weekend getaway or a long-term stay. Visiting the lake will leave you with lasting memories, lots of laughs, and a peaceful or energized atmosphere. I highly recommend checking it out on your next long weekend!
