PTSA Auction Results

As was reported in an earlier edition of Legacy, the AHS PTSA held its second annual fundraising auction from February 21-28, 2024. This second auction came to a close at 9:00 P.M.  on February 29, 2024. Bidding took place over the course of the week, and there was a flurry of voting right at the end with people trying to get or keep their target items. All forty-five items offered in the auction were sold.

Overall, the auction was a huge success and will greatly benefit AHS.  This year, the auction featured some great getaways such as a mountain condo, a Lake Gaston lake house, and a room at The Umstead Hotel and Spa. There were some entertainment options such as Universal Studios Florida admission tickets, Carolina Hurricanes tickets, and a sleepover package. In addition, there were self-assessments, an escape room, and many restaurant and movie gift cards. The items were donated by local businesses and many generous AHS families.

The AHS PTSA had a goal to raise $4,000.00. With the generous bidding on the auction items, the PTSA passed its goal and raised over $5,760.00. However, there were additional contributions in corporate matches, a family foundation, and direct donations in the amount of $2,725.00. In total, the AHS PTSA raised $8,485.00.

AHS benefits greatly from the auction funds raised. Kay Campbell, the PTSA Auction Coordinator, stated: “The PTSA uses the money raised to  fund teacher grants for special projects to enrich students’ educational experience, salute teachers and staff for their hard work, recognize students’ academic achievements, fund academic scholarships for seniors, and provide life skills education to all students.” The PTSA wanted to give a huge shout out and thank you to the donors that helped make it all possible:
