Garden Time!
There are many benefits of having a garden for the springtime. I know that especially for high school students, it is important to get that “spring and summer body,” which entails eating healthy. Being able to maintain a healthy diet throughout the warmer months and achieving goals that were set at the beginning of the year is easily achievable with some form of a garden.
In the eyes of some people, having a garden is a lot of work and not worth it. But to me, I see it as a way to help better the Earth and yourself. It can improve your mental health because it requires no usage of technology and stress. When people, especially teens, are always using technology, they lose connection and appreciation for the real world. In order to rebuild those relationships with the environment, encouraging gardening in any form would be beneficial for all of us.
Gardens can also be so good for the environment. They can help to reduce carbon dioxide levels by absorbing carbon dioxide through photosynthesis and releasing oxygen into the air. It also improves the opportunities for animals by planting a variety of spring flowers and plants and creating a habitat that attracts a wide range of pollinators, birds, and other wildlife.
Overall, making a garden can make you feel better about helping to improve yourself and the biodiversity of the environment. Due to popular belief, they can be a lot of hard work, but in the end, it definitely pays off.
