Water and The Body
Water is important to the human body; that is a fact that everyone knows. But how important is it? Around 70% of your body is made of water or uses water. All of that water is always a part of some process to make it function. So how much water do we need to drink to keep it that way?
Around ninety ounces of water per day is recommended, but that’s just a general recommendation. The seasons are changing, and that means the temperature rises, so you should drink more water the hotter it gets. And if you walk often or play sports, your water intake should increase the more you sweat. You use a lot of the water in your body to regulate temperatures, hence why you sweat, so the more you sweat the more water you must drink. So that’s more than thirteen cups of water a day!
The human body takes a lot of maintenance, and water does most of the work for you. It transports nutrients in your body, regulates your temperature, lubricates joints, and even helps you eat and digest! With the flowers getting ready to bloom and allergies ready to take hold, water will help you manage most of those pesky symptoms. Water helps create the important things that clog your nose when it’s spring, mucus! It helps protect the walls of your nose and manage how much pollen you actually breathe in.
As you can see, water is used a lot in your body. And we’ve only barely scratched the tip of the iceberg! Make sure to drink a lot of water this spring.
