Ice Skating in the Peak
The holiday season is here, and many students in the Peak are enjoying the ice skating at the Fenton Shopping Center in Cary.
Starting November 5th through January 23rd, Skating in the Square is held from about three-thirty to ten p.m. on weekdays, from ten a.m. to ten p.m. on Saturdays, and twelve p.m. to seven p.m. on Sundays. The cost per person is $16 plus tax and includes skate rentals and seventy-five minutes of skating. Every Monday, tickets are $3 off, and on holidays you can also find similar discounts. So after completing a waiver with a legal guardian’s signature, you are all set to skate!
This family-friendly way to have fun has been a very popular place to celebrate the holidays. After interviewing some people at the rink, they all said it was a great experience and that you don’t have to be good at skating to have fun. One teenager said about ice skating, “I really like being able to spend time with friends and take pictures by the Christmas tree!”
The ice skating rink isn’t just a place to skate; you can also work there too. Some students from Apex and other schools in the Peak got jobs at the ice rink, helping with skate rentals, managing the ice, and helping skaters skate. Fenton Shopping Center also has other winter festivities you can participate in such as meeting Santa, horse carriage rides, cookie decorating, and so much more.
Overall, ice skating in Fenton is a spectacular experience. It brings friends and family together to have fun and it is sure to get you into holiday spirit!
