Ready for Winter

Now that winter is just around the corner and the air is getting cooler, ideas for winter activities are a need. Some activities could include going ice skating with your friends at a near by rink, or making hot chocolate bombs and putting them into warm milk, or even making a holiday wishlist. These are just a few of many different things to do in winter; read more to see some other activities.
A fun thing to do towards the beginning of winter is to watch holiday movies. There are numerous holiday movies to watch with your friends and family. Some fan favorites are How The Grinch Stole Christmas, Elf, Love Actually, Home Alone, A Christmas Story, and many others to fit your preference. A good way to watch them is cuddled up on the couch with some hot chocolate and a blanket.
There are fun festive crafts to do as well like making hand turkeys and snowflakes from construction paper. In order to make a hand turkey, you are going to want to lay your hand down on a piece of paper and trace around it with a pencil. You can cut the paper hand out or leave it as the full page. Once you do that you can add feathers and a neck and eyes, and then you have your very own hand turkey. A way to make a snowflake is by taking a piece of paper and folding it diagonally and cutting off the excess paper until it makes a cone shape. Then taking scissors and cutting out fun shapes and patterns. Once you do this, unfold the paper and you’ll have a beautiful handmade snowflake. There are many other paper crafts you can make as well.
Some fun holiday treats to make are peppermint bark and hot chocolate bombs. There are many different ways to make peppermint bark, but one of the most popular ways includes crushed peppermint, white chocolate, and semi-sweet chocolate. First you are going to want to take a non-stick sheet or parchment paper on a tray and melt the chocolate. Once you do those steps you are going to want to pour the semi-sweet chocolate on the tray and spread it out evenly. Then do the same on top for the white chocolate. Before you let the chocolate harden, sprinkle the crushed peppermint overtop of the chocolate. Once the chocolate hardens, break the bark into pieces, and then the peppermint bark is ready to eat!
Another delicious treat to make is hot chocolate bombs. For this dessert you are going to need circle baking molds, any type of melting chocolate, marshmallows (optional), and hot chocolate mix. First you’re going to want to melt the chocolate and spread it around the mold evenly and let it harden. Once you do that, take the chocolate out of the mold very carefully and melt the edges of each semicircle. Put the mix and whatever else you want to add into some of the semicircles and carefully place another empty one on top. Once you do that let the softened edges harden and dunk it in some warm milk to enjoy.
There are just some of many activities to take part in during the winter. With holidays coming, it’s a great way to spend time with your family and friends.
