Swim and Dive

The Apex Swim and Dive season has started. The team’s first swim meet was on the 23rd of November against Panther Creek, Green Hope, and Rolesville. The team performed well coming in second place to Green Hope. We interviewed Marisa White, a top female swimmer, about the team. She is super excited about the season and has great confidence in the team. Some of her goals include performing well in the 100 yard Butterfly and doing well in Regionals and State Championships. The Swim team’s next meet is on December 13th, against Athens Drive, Holly Springs, and Corinth Holders. The Dive team is currently preparing for their first Dive competition on December 10th.

Mens Basketball 

The Cougars Basketball had a great season to 2-1. They put up a good fight against Broughton for the first game of the season but sadly fell short with a score of 89-86. Even with a tough loss the boys took big wins against Fuquay (66-47) and Heritage (73-65). Point guard that led the team in points on Tuesday, Patrick Malott, dropped 37 points against Heritage. Also impressive performance from freshman guard, Kody Frey, with 7 assists and center, Sam Martin, with 12 points, 8 blocks, and 3 steals. With an Interview with Sam Martin and small forward, Taron Brown, they both expressed strong hopes for their teams season. They believe they will finish above .500. Taron suggests everyone to make sure to come out to the Friendship game on 1/4/22 and Sam made sure to say “Pull up to the big game December 20th, It is my birthday and we are coming for heads”.
