Apex High Football ends their season with an even record of 5-5. This put the Cougars 4th in the Southern Wake conference and was the football team’s best season since 2014 where they went 6-6. Unfortunately the team took a loss on their Senior Night to the Holly Spring High School Hawks, Apex was able to end their final game of the season against Green Hope with a big win of 27-13. This game 18 seniors put on their helmets for their final time. Starting quarterback, Max Bartelt, ended his final season of 1907 passing yards, 122 completions, and 19 touchdown passes. Starting offensive lineman, Adam Sulaiman, ends his high school football career with five division three offers. The seniors and their team almost saw the playoffs, but with the opposing team not submitting their scores in on time, the Cougars were taken out of the top 32 and the other team was only disciplined with a fine. Regardless the Cougars went all out this season and performed magnificently.
