Have you heard of the Apex High School MSA? MSA stands for Muslim Student Association. The MSA does all sorts of things. They get together and just hang out, they help the hungry, they hold drives, and they have lots of fun while getting to know each other. You do not have to be a Muslim to attend the MSA meetings, everyone is welcome. The MSA has done many things to help the community.
Beginning with participating in rise against hunger food packings, Rise against Hunger is an organization that holds events to pack food for people in need. The MSA has participated in two of these events this year. These events thrive off of people donating money to help support them. Once the money is raised, a date will be released for the event. During the event, people who are there to help will pack small bags of rice and soy. These events are very fun to be a part of. If you want to do this, come to an MSA meeting and see what is being planned.
The MSA holds meetings every other friday after school in Mrs. Nordt’s room. Usually meetings start with announcements that need to be made. After announcements, any club members that have ideas for events that they want to do will explain the idea that they have. The other members will give their thoughts about the idea. If the other members decide that this is something that they want to do, the person who came up with the idea will take lead of the project and do what needs to be done. After all the things that needed to be done are taken care of, members usually hang out and talk.
Even if you are not a Muslim, if any of this sounds like something you would like to do, come out to one of the meetings and meet everyone. It is all about having fun while helping out the other people that are in need.
