Which Year of High School is Really the Best?

As many people know, the 2018-2019 school year is coming to an end. The seniors will soon be going to work or college and starting their new lives after high school. There are many different opinions on which year of high school is the best and which is the worst. Everyone has their own opinion and how their year goes normally depends on their friends, classes, sports, and clubs going on that year. Each year of high school has a different level of class difficulty, too, which has a big impact on how people like their school year. I wanted to see what students at our high school though, so I decided to interview some of the seniors to see what year of high school they thought was the best and worst.

Q: What year of high school is the best? Why?

A: Senior year because there is a lot more stuff to do such as the senior picnic and you also have senior exemptions. Although it is stressful figuring out everything for college, senior year is still the best.

Q: What year of high school is the worst? Why?

A: Sophomore year because you are not taking any super hard classes, but you still complain about them. Also, you are still an underclassman; everyone tells you that it only gets worse, and classes only get harder.

Q: What year of high school is the best? Why?

A: Sophomore year; I went to a different school during my sophomore year. I had a lot more friends that year because I was on the dance team, and I was kinda popular because the dance team was a really big thing there. I was also in the choir, and it was really fun; I made a lot of my best friends that year.

Q: What year of high school is the worst? Why?

A: Junior year because it already has the hardest classes to take, and I also moved to Apex that year, so the transition made it even worse. A lot of work was pushed onto me that year, so it was not good.

Q: What year of high school is the best? Why?

A: Senior year; I have no homework, and I have a car. I have all the free time I want plus the teachers are laid back, so life is good.

Q: What year of high school is the worst? Why?

A: Sophomore year; there were crazy amounts of homework and killer late nights doing papers and projects. I basically got no sleep that year so it was not fun.

Q: What year of high school is the best? Why?

A: Freshman year was the best because it was the easiest, and there wasn’t any work.

Q: What year of high school is the worst? Why?

A: Junior year was the worst because we had to take a bunch of AP classes and start to worry about college applications.

Q: What year of high school is the best? Which year is the worst? Why?

A: Junior year was the best and the worst year actually. My personal life was tough in the beginning of the year, but the hard class load showed me that I could handle whatever got thrown at me.

After interviewing these few seniors I realized that even though some of the seniors had different opinions, most of their reasonings were similar. All of their worst years were always the worst because of how stressful that year was or how much school work they had in it. All of their best years had more laid back classes, and they had more freedom to do what they want. I also realized that if you move states or even just schools, it can have a huge impact on why certain years are your favorite or least favorite. Regardless of what year these seniors said was their best or their worst, they survived and are graduating soon. You should not worry about going into the next year of high school based on what other students tell you because as shown above everyone has their own experience and their own opinion. Do you agree with these seniors worst and best year? What was your worst or best year(so far)?
