The Love for Cheap Food

Fast food is an edible substance that can be prepared and served quickly. It can come from many places: sit-down restaurants, take-out, drive-thru, and delivery. Fast food is popular because it’s inexpensive, convenient, and delicious. However, fast food is often made with cheaper ingredients such as high fat meat, refined grains, and the add of sugar and fats instead of healthy nutritious ingredients such as whole grains, fresh fruits, and vegetables.

Most of their food ingredients come from factory farms that use vitamins, minerals, and other substances to make animals grow and generate food at a faster rate. This also utilizes modern tools and equipment that help process meat, eggs, milk, and other kinds of food items at a quick and efficient way. As a result, factory farms businesses can reduce their overheads while earning more revenues and profits. Factory farms produce food faster than traditional farms, which means that bigger amounts of milk, eggs, and meat can reach store shelves and restaurants. This can be a great thing considering that the world’s population is steadily rising, and there are now millions of people who need to eat.

They also assist in reducing food costs and making food costs and making food more accessible even for those who have lower income. Teenagers are probably some of the biggest consumers of fast food today. Now fast food restaurants are just about everywhere, and teenagers have much more freedom. Many times teenagers will have some reason to eat fast food. For example; some will eat after school/sport practices, after work, and to go hang out with friends, and some teenagers even do their best to avoid them. Most will it because it is the most convenient to them, or because they have no time to cook, it’s good food, it’s cheaper, or they have some other reason. This is more present in fast food places such as McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s, etc.

Many teenagers will eat fast food because it is just a simple answer to satisfy their hunger needs and because it’s convenient. However, fast food is not to be abused and eaten on a daily or even weekly basis. Fast food needs to be eaten in moderation, meaning to not eat it that often and to pace yourself in what you eat. Think about this the next time you grab a snack off campus!
