On April 29 and April 30 Apex High School’s Track and Field Team had their Conference Meet. The meet was held at Apex and was against Holly Springs, South Garner, Garner, Apex Friendship, Fuquay, and Middle Creek. Both teams did exceptionally well! The Apex Men’s Track team got first place with a score of 166 points while the Women’s Track Team got second place with a score of 149 points.

The men’s track teams ranked from first to last are in the following order: Apex (166), Middle Creek (149), Garner (120), Apex Friendship (92.5), Holly Springs (72), South Garner (51), Fuquay (49).

The women’s track teams ranked from first to last are in the following order: Apex Friendship (155), Apex (149), Garner (138), Holly Springs (107), Middle Creek (97), South Garner (12), Fuquay (9).

There were also some outstanding cougars who won awards. Charles “Omar” McBride won the Men’s Field Event MVP, and his sister Omare “Rae” McBride won the Women’s Field Event MVP. We even had our amazing Coach Trezona win Field Coach of the Year. Congratulations to everyone who won an award!!

Overall I thought this was a pretty successful Conference Meet to end the season. Although it is sad that track season is coming to an end, Regionals will be held at Green Hope on May 11 from 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Make sure you come to support everyone who qualified!!
