As the fall sports season wraps up, our Apex High School women’s golf team made sure to close out the season with a huge milestone. The team competed at the 4A Central Regional Tournament on Oct. 15 and did an exceptional job! Margaux Whitley, Abby Loding, and Madison Winn earned AHS a team qualification for the North Carolina High School Athletic Association State Golf Tournament for the first time! These three ladies performed well enough to qualify AHS for States as a team, and only the top seventeen individuals qualify, so this was an incredible accomplishment by Whitley, Loding, and Winn. These ladies deserve a huge congratulations for earning AHS a team birth at states. Way to go, Cougars!

The team recently competed at the NCHSAA State Golf Tournament in Pinehurst, North Carolina. This two day tournament took place on Oct. 22 and Oct. 23, and our Cougars were up against fierce competition but still performed very well. The scores from the tournament can be found here.

Our women’s golf team does not receive nearly enough recognition, and we want them to know that we are extremely proud of their accomplishments and hard work this season. Whitley, Loding, and Winn represented Apex very well at both regionals and states, so be sure to congratulate these cougars on a great season!
