 The new Star Wars: The Last Jedi, released on December 14, 2017, was a hit. The movie had a variety of ratings, though different fans had expected different things from the film. Rotten Tomatoes gave the movie a 90%  rating after many fans enjoyed seeing the film. The good ratings produced by the movie made it even more popular than it already had been due to the previous films. The movie also became very popular to the meme world. A scene where the very notorious charter, Kylo Ren, is seen shirtless became very well known. This blew up the Internet as fans and even haters of the film started using the image in memes. Besides the meme, the movie did well in other aspects such as the animation of the character Leia Organa, the contribution to Luke Skywalker, and much more.

Sadly, the actress Carrie Fisher passed away during the production of the film. Although her daughter Billie Lourd was able to make an appearance in the film, as a contribution to her mother, it was still heartbreaking to hear of her passing. Many Star Wars fans were incredibly impressed with the animation the producers of the movie put out. The producers of the film were able to shoot some of Fisher’s scenes before her passing but unfortunately did not film them all. Fans of the series were so impressed because of the realism portrayed through Fisher’s character. Certain fans even went on to say they could not even tell when Leia was animated or if Fisher was there. Animation has come a very long way. It even shows in video games and cartoons. Thanks to the talents that brought us animation, Fisher’s character was able to live on without changing the original story.

The movie was very touching, to not only the fans but to also the cast. Scenes with Leia and Skywalker were very well thought out and a little hard for some of the cast to handle. Skywalker’s appearance in the film was highly anticipated, especially from the last film. The producers made sure to honor Skywalker and Leia in the film because of Fisher’s passing and Skywalker’s death. The producers of the film also contributed to the characters and actors in other forms, making the film even more touching.

The Star Wars series is beloved by many. The film brought good memories and lasted throughout the years. To the characters and cast to the story line, even the memes, Star Wars is an amazing series, and The Last Jedi is a great movie, some even comparing it to the brilliant originals.
