You probably know about all the major activities at Apex, but there are tons of smaller groups that you might be missing out on! These clubs are where you will find people with super specific interests, and they are the best places to learn a new skill or just hang out. Check out three of the coolest organizations you should join this year.

If you think fashion is just about looking good, you are missing the point! The Fashion Club, advised by Mrs. Lord, dives deep into the art of clothing, focusing on design, trends, and sustainability. They will teach you how to analyze fashion history and how to make thoughtful, earth-friendly choices when you shop.

Club leader Ella S. shared what the group is all about: “In fashion club, our main focuses are sustainability and inclusivity. We do a lot of fun meetings around these ideas like making outfits on dress forms out of unconventional materials like wrapping paper and plastic bags. We also do a lot of design activities. You should join fashion club because the meetings are really fun, and the people in our club are very welcoming and fun to work with. You can also learn more about fashion.”

The club meets every other Monday in Room 3212.

For students who want to improve their public speaking, critical thinking, and debate skills, the Mock Trial Club is an amazing choice. This group lets you step into a courtroom simulation, where you prepare cases, examine witnesses, and argue in front of a real judge or attorney. You will learn to think fast and construct persuasive arguments—skills that are incredibly valuable no matter what you do after high school. Mock Trial is advised by Ms. Kelly and meets one Thursday a month in Room 4408.

Another perfect option for creative types is the Photography Club. Led by Mr. Fredrick, this club is open to everyone, whether you shoot on your phone or a professional camera. You will learn the fundamentals of composition, lighting, and editing, and you will even get to go on photo excursions around campus. It is a fun way to improve your visual storytelling and document the best parts of Apex High. The Photography Club is held in Room 4414 every other Thursday.
