Student Resources

High school can always be rough terrain to navigate in, but at Apex High School, students are always given the resources they need. With student services, every student has access to much needed information, tools, and support to help them thrive! It’s almost like a lifeline for high school students. Student services will guide you through problems, from academic ones, to course issues and college preps.

Student services here at Apex High School allow students to easily access academic guidance, career and college preparations and psychological help. When guidance counselor Mrs. Hartley was asked about the goal of student services she responded with “ We’re here to help students academically… and  social-emotionally”

The Wake Tech dual-enrollment program allows students to have the opportunity to take college level courses while they’re still in high school. Which allows students to earn college credits that will give them a head start on their higher education, and save on tuition costs. This program is primarily open to seniors and juniors.

Transcripts are an important service that you can get from the student services. You can use them for college applications or if you’re transferring to another school. Each student can request their official transcript via talking to their counselor or visiting Wake County Records Request.

For seniors and juniors, student services are especially important, as they assist by organizing college visits to the school campus, scholarship applications, and other graduation milestones. If you are interested in checking out some of the colleges visiting you can sign up at SignupGenius

In addition, certain senior class information has been released not so long ago. Graduation will happen on June 18th at 8 am, while practices will commence on June 4th with having an awards assembly on June 5th. Check out the schools website for additional information about the senior class

Adding on to college prep, student services play a big role in assisting students in the path towards colleges. “Well we have… junior conferences for juniors where we get to talk about planning for senior year and get lots of different resources on how to career search college options, so we kinda help lead students in that way.” Said Mrs Hartley.

Financial aid offered by the school allows student services to assist in helping students and families navigate the FAFSA (Federal Student Aid). This allows higher education such as college more accessible to everyone by ensuring that financial boundaries don’t stand in a student’s aspirations. More info – Apex High School FAFSA.

Using student services can always make a big difference in your high school experience. According to Mrs. Hartley, “Make sure that you communicate with your teachers… a lot of the time students would be having troubles and they haven’t communicated with their teachers yet, and once they do it’s an easy fix… it’s just about being willing to communicate with your teachers and being willing to come communicate with us so we can help”.
