The first recommendation comes from myself, Edwin. The book I would recommend to engage in the Halloween vibe would be Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark by Alvin Schwartz. This amazing book is a classic collection of chilling scary stories all of them being short and enjoyable to read with others.

Alice Deciano, a 10th grade student, suggested The Wicked Deep by Shea Ernshaw, a dark mystery with a touch of romance. She said the book’s setting creates a creepy vibe, with chilling ghost scenes that enhance the drama and thrills of the story, making it perfect for Halloween..

Lidzy´s pick is Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs she highlights that the book sets up a perfect Halloween vibe with its mysteries and the supernatural saying ¨old photos in the story make it so creepy¨. She also loved the peculiar kids’ abilities, noting that the book’s thrills, mysterious storyline, time loops, and spooky setting make it ideal for the holiday.

Steven recommends There’s Someone Inside Your House by Stephanie Perkins, describing it as a slasher that would have readers on edge the entire time he then goes on to say it’s the perfect book for anyone looking for a terrifying read during Halloween.

Finally, Jared offers A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness as his choice. He describes it as an emotional story with a touch of horror where the frightening monsters take a backseat to the main character’s journey through fear and grief.
