Rylan’s Senior Sign-Off

As I sit here writing my final article for Newspaper class at Apex High, I can’t help but feel a wave of nostalgia wash over me. My journey here at Apex has been incredible, and it is hard to believe that this chapter of my life is coming to an end.

Apex High has been much more than just a school to me; it has been a community where I have formed friendships and learned invaluable lessons. I will forever carry the relationships I have built with my friends and teachers. I would like to thank the following teachers for making my highschool journey very memorable and enjoyable: Mr. Frederick, Mr. Holder, Mr. Ferguson, Ms. McGee, Ms. Whiteside, and many more.

My two semesters in Newspaper have been a big part of my high school experience, especially due to the fact that I have only taken two classes at Apex High (per semester) this year. Within Newspaper, having the freedom to explore topics that genuinely interest me has been very refreshing. Writing has always been something I feel I have been decent at, and this class allowed me to delve deeper into it.

The flexibility to choose my topics meant that each article I wrote was a true reflection of my interests and curiosities. Whether it was school events, international news, or things that I found interesting, each piece helped me grow as a writer and a thinker.

Apex High has been a significant part of my journey. I am excited about the future and the new experiences that await me at UNC Charlotte, but I will never forget the foundation that Apex High has provided me. Thank you Apex High students and staff for the memories, the lessons, and the community.
