The iconic Met Gala rolls around every year, keeping everyone excited to rate the interesting outfits, hear about the drama, and see everything else that comes with it. The Met Gala first started in 1948 as an event for New York socialites to participate in financial donations, with tickets only being $50, has turned into an invite-only event that only the most famous faces of our society can attend, which is known as the ¨live-streamed fashion event of the year¨. The Met Gala had tons of fashion and drama this year.

Every year, the Met Gala has a theme, and this year, the theme of the exhibition was ¨Sleeping Beauty, ¨ and the fashion theme was ¨garden of time¨. The people who attended the Met Gala this year took much consideration to these themes to try to create the best looks to fit the theme. Many people, such as Ayo Edibre, Nicki Minaj, and Rebecca Hall, wore things like butterflies and floral prints that show the beauty of nature in our world. Other people like Lana Del Ray, Zendaya, and Kendall Jenner took a darker approach to the theme with their Met Gala looks, wearing very dark makeup, colors, branches, and twigs. One of the most popular looks this year was Tyla Seethal’s look. Many people chose to do a water look, but Tyla chose the opposite and went with a sand look, which was unique and different. She wore a sculpted sand dress with sand makeup up her arms. She also held an hourglass sand purse, which was very on point with the theme. This seemed to be one of the dresses most liked at the Met Gala.

Along with fashion also came drama. Kim Kardashian wore a very beautiful silver dress with a cardigan over top. Underneath this dress, Kim wore a very small corset, which compressed the lower rib cage and limited the expansion of the lungs, leading to how much air was allowed inside the lungs. This resulted in health issues such as shallower breathing, dizziness, and fainting. This shows how much people will do for the Met Gala. Doja Cat wore nothing but a towel to the Met Gala. Many people were watching, and many people there were upset by this look. They thought it did not appropriately fit the theme, and some people saw it as she was making fun of the Met Gala. This is another example of how serious people take Met Gala looks.

The Met Gala 2024 was very interesting and entertaining, to say the least. I loved seeing how much thought was given to each look and how unique and different they were. It was so much fun to watch but also very entertaining to see what everyone had to say afterward. It’s also entertaining to see all the headlines in famous magazines afterward. People are already excited about the Met Gala 2025 and guessing the theme! I can’t wait to see what the Met Gala 2025 brings us!
