VR Games and Their Value To Health

Technology has advanced incredibly far, so far that we now have things like augmented reality and virtual reality. Virtual reality (VR) is a reality you can interact with directly, but it’s still false. It’s a lot more active than sitting in front of a computer or console. Let me tell you how virtual reality  can not only help with your exercise but also help with your mind.

One of the first VR games I played was the Walking Dead VR game. It’s a game where you try your best to survive in a zombie apocalypse while trying to help a friendly voice on the radio. This game almost always made me a little sore after playing it. The movements you have to make to kill zombies have to have force behind them, movements like swinging an axe or trying to dodge a zombie’s swipe, and they all felt real enough for me to move around in ways I normally wouldn’t.

Help Wanted is a horror VR game that’s a part of the Five Nights At Freddy’s game series. In it they have you play mini-games that are either remakes of previous FNAF games in VR or new games that have you doing various tasks to try and survive. One of the most active ones, for both your body and brain, are the hide-and-seek mini-games. They have you search for small plushies in a dark room before they kill you. The game is incredibly hard as they have you constantly twisting and turning your body to search and your brain firing on all cylinders to try and find these small dangerous plushies.

Unlike the other two games, Job Simulator is not a horror game that has you constantly on edge. Job Simulator is exactly what it sounds like; it’s a game that tries to simulate jobs but in a strange and silly manner. Your brain is always trying to figure out what’ll happen next, and the chaoticness of rushing around your small environment to try and figure out how to proceed is a lot of fun.

These games are the best example, at least in my experience, for VR helping your body and mind at the same time. The difficulty of all three games makes them all the more fun and stimulating. VR games may be more tiring than the average point and shoot games on a laptop, but that’s what makes them all the more unique.
