AP Prep
With AP exams right around the corner, it might be a good idea to start thinking about how you’re going to study for them. I was able to talk to a couple teachers who are helping their recent and former students study.
May is a big month for many high schools, not only with AP exams but also prom and dual enrollment courses ending. One way of taking some of the stress away from some of that is being ready and prepared for exams. Ideas to do that is to check in with your AP teachers and see if they have any materials for you to study with, go over notes you have taken or any worksheets you may have done, take practice tests from AP Classroom, etc.
AP exams are always a little stressful, but fortunately getting a bad score won’t count against you. In order to get college credit you must score a three or above on the exam; however you still get the AP credit even if you don’t get a three.
Ms. Pettifer said, “Starting the week we came from spring break, I have been doing weekly after school sessions for about an hour and a half. I’ve also made a canvas review for the exam with Ms. Fruehauf that all the kids we have had this semester and last semester are in and can review whatever material they would like.” Ms. Pettifer is just one of the teachers who is helping her students prepare for the exam; we also have Ms. Neff and Baukema. They sent out a sign up form on the teacher workday for students to come in and get some extra review practice; there are also lesson reviews for students on AP Classroom as well as in class review from both teachers.
These are great ways to prepare for these upcoming tests. You can look at the AP exam schedule in AP Classroom and see when and where your exams will take place. Good luck, Cougars!!
