Coming Back From Spreak

Every school year consists of many breaks, whether it be workdays or holidays. Spring Bbreak comes around early April/, late March and gives students a week break from their school work. Coming back to school after a week off can always have its struggles. With our first few days back to school, I asked around to figure out what students do to quickly jump back into their academic groove.

This time near Sspring Bbreak also falls along the end of the third quarter of school. So not only does this break give us nine it’s 7 days off, but also gives hope ofoff realizing the final stretch to summer is here. Problems peers of mine face are getting mentally back in their grind with classwork, homework, and studying, but the biggest struggle is the sleeping schedule going back to very early mornings.

With the end of the third quarter as well, students like Connor McFadden had work to catch up on before the deadline ended. While this leads to a not- so- fun break, it helped him be able to stay in the mindset of getting things done, and did not have such a rude awakening on his first Monday back.

The sleep problem stated earlier is likely caused by students changing their sleep schedules over break. Staying out later and sleeping in more, late nights are more possible with less morning responsibilities, while sleeping in is helpful for stressed students catching up on rest and sleep. Student Mary Martin kept her school time alarm on over spring break so she would stay ready over break for her return.

While the break is fun for students and a needed vacation from stress and work, it can be a struggle for their return back to school. Lucky for us at Apex High, we have smart, problem solving attendees who can thrive in the adversity.
