Springtime Flowers, Trees, and Plants
Now that winter is over and the pollen is coming in, we can see many of the new springtime flowers growing! We have all already started to notice many different types of plants, flowers, and trees growing in, so let’s talk about some of the best ones.
First we can look at some of the different types of trees that grow in the springtime. I’m sure you’ve noticed by now that North Carolina’s signature yellow pine pollen has already taken effect. The pine pollen comes from all our trees and can cause many allergies to flare up as well as coating cars, houses, rivers, lakes, etc. Another tree that NC has a lot of is the many beautiful dogwood trees, whose flower is the state flower of NC. I personally have seen many blooming right now in their beautiful white and pink color. There are many other trees that flower during this time of year, but those two in my opinion are the most notable.
The most beautiful and exciting category in my opinion are the springtime flowers. One of these is the Dwarf Crested Iris, which has a lovely lavender/blue color. Another notable flower is the Daffodil, which can come in many colors, including yellow, orange and pink. Personally, in my yard, we have tulip bulbs, which come up around this time of year, in many different colors. Another one in my yard is the white Camellias, which are a very pure white color. I also really enjoy the yellow honeysuckle flower, which has edible nectar. There are many other flowers that bloom during this time, and they all make a really pretty landscape!
Lastly there are many plants that also bloom during spring, such as fruits, vegetables, and different grasses. Many fruits grow during spring and summertime in NC, one of my favorites being strawberries. Strawberry picking has been a childhood favorite activity for me, and they are delicious! Many other fruits grow during this time such as apples, blueberries, blackberries, peaches, etc. There are also vegetables that grow during this time like carrots, lettuce, broclies, etc. Another thing you will see come back to life is your grass. Personally, my family’s grass gets extremely dry and brown during winter, and during the spring and summer it comes back to life, just like many things during this season!
There are so many beautiful things in spring, so keep an eye out for all the gorgeous flowers, beautiful trees and the many blooming plants!
