Exams Explained

Final exams are always a difficult and busy time for students. Here is the exam schedule and a few helpful study tips for the upcoming weeks.

Starting on Wednesday, the 17th of January and ending on Monday, January 22nd, the first through fourth period exam will take place. Wednesday is the first period exam, Thursday is the second period exam, Friday is the third period exam, and Monday is the fourth period exam. The makeup exams will be on Tuesday, January 23rd. Each day the exams will start at 7:25 AM until around 10:50 AM, if not delayed. Buses will be provided each day.

Another important factor for exams is that seniors with less than ten absences and above an 80% in the class may be exempt from the exam.

One of the most important things to do well on exams is to get a good night’s sleep before the exam. Making sure that you have enough rest stimulates the mind and improves your memory from what you studied the night before.

Some good study tips are to use engaging apps such as Quizlet or Kahoot to study terms and make mock tests. Making flashcards with terms and definitions helps with memorization as well.

There are many other ways to study as well; studying with a friend can be helpful. Sometimes it’s hard to concentrate alone but learning with a friend can be very useful. Listening to music can also be good brain stimulation. Music helps memory and for some people, it helps to focus when you’re studying.

Another solution to making sure none of your studying goes to waste is making sure to stay hydrated and have plenty of good food in your system. Food and water help you wake up and stay awake; not just any food, but good food to fuel your brain such as fruit, vegetables, protein, etc. Staying healthy before an exam helps you stay alert and focus better as well as potentially reducing test anxiety.

The last method that could potentially be very helpful for students is exercising. Exercising also starts brain stimulation and helps to stay alert during the exam. Exercising the night before can also help you get a better night’s sleep and wake up energized in the morning.

All of these techniques and tips are great ways to help students succeed on their exams. Exams are coming up soon, and finding good ways to study and stay healthy are great ways to do well on them. Good luck, everyone!
