The Magic of Hallmark Movies

‘Tis the season for Hallmark Christmas movies! While some people might find them cliché or repetitive, there’s something about this genre that “encapsulates the warm fuzzy feeling of Christmas,” according to Mrs. McGee, an avid fan of Hallmark movies. She provided some recommendations for her all-time favorites.

Five More Minutes is a touching story of a woman traveling back to the town where her late grandfather had a candy cane confectionery; there, she met her high school sweetheart. She encounters a journal her grandfather wrote in about his first love and embarks on a mission to find her. It was a story of second chances and making the most of your time with someone so that you’re not left wishing that you had just five more minutes.

Another fan favorite is Three Wise Men and a Baby. It’s about three brothers tasked to take care of a child, and in doing so, they rediscover their love for Christmas and each other. It’s a wonderful tale about family and the little things that bring people together. The film is lighthearted and hilarious while still incorporating some significant themes.

Finally, A Biltmore Christmas follows a screenwriter that gets sent back in time to 1947 to another movie on the same set because of a magical hourglass. She has to navigate the past world carefully in order to not change the present. This one is filmed in the Biltmore Hotel in Asheville, a beautiful location for a beautifully romantic (but cheesy) movie.

If someone is looking to get more spirited for the holiday season, Hallmark Christmas movies are the perfect place to start. With every kind of story and trope imaginable, everyone is sure to find something they’ll like. Cozy up on the couch and enjoy one of the many Hallmark Christmas movies!
