He was loved so much by the nation because of his optimism and the hope he had for the country. He was a strong and reliable leader during challenging times like the Missile Crisis. He strived for equal rights movements, like ending segregation and equal pay. 

Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963; this cut his presidency short and had a profound impact on the American people. This November marks 60 years since his death. 

We should still care about John F. Kennedy because sixty years later, the improvements he made during his presidency remain significant.
