The leaves begin to turn into shades of orange and red, which means it is getting closer to winter time! That means football season is over as well as other fall sports. Although it is wrapping up, we have had many highlights to share this school year.

Recently we had our last football game of the season played away at Green Hope.  We won 39 to 12. Even though our last game was last Friday, we competed in the playoffs against the New Bern Bears. The Cougars lost in a very tough game. Let’s not forget the incredible win against Friendship on Homecoming. Great job, Cougars, on another great football season! 

Another important sport to highlight this year was boys varsity soccer! Senior night for football and soccer was definitely important to our graduating seniors and parents. 

To highlight some of our women’s sports, we had women’s cross country, women’s  golf, gymnastics, women’s  tennis, and all levels of volleyball ! I love to see all the great opportunities girls can play at Apex!

Our upcoming winter sports are exciting to see! We have our men’s and women’s basketball season coming up, which is a very exciting season. We also had our first men’s and women’s swim meet on November 1st. Although we have an outdoor track team in the spring, to keep warm Apex also offers men’s and women’s indoor track. Lastly, we have our strongest members of Apex as a part of the men’s and women’s wrestling team. These are some exciting sports coming up you should definitely check out!

Going into the cold season means more hoodies, more special treats, and more indoor sports to go and see! Come support our Cougars and Seniors as they begin the next sports season.
