In today’s world, there are so many different jobs that hire teenagers. Many kids need jobs to do daily things like getting gas, food, and self-care. Here is some information about some of those jobs looking to hire teenagers.
Sodabox is the first one on the list. The environment is a warm and welcoming place with fun people. Sodabox is a store on East Williams St., and the concept is to make different soda flavors based on syrups and plain (?) sodas. There are sodas like Dr. Pepper, Sprite, Coke, etc, and you can add different flavors of syrup and purees to make a unique flavor. Sodabox hires at sixteen years old and has a starting rate of eight dollars and fifty cents an hour.
Chick-fil-A is another place that hires younger teens. Fourteen is the age at which they hire and have a starting rate of about thirteen dollars per hour. This environment is fast-paced and friendly. Chick-fil-A is one of the most popular fast-food restaurants around and would be a good place for teenagers to apply.
Another job in the Triangle that hires teenagers is Ruckus. The starting rate is ten dollars an hour before tips. They typically hire at the age of fifteen and up. The environment is fun and sociable and would be a great option for teens to work at.
Although lifeguarding season is over, it is still a great option for the summer. Not only are you making money, but you get CPR certified and learn important and valuable skills. The starting rate is around fifteen dollars an hour. Typically you are working with multiple other people and are not on the stand for very long before you rotate off. This is a great way for teens to make money during the summer and still have time to have fun.
Another job that’s popular amongst teenagers is the YMCA. There are multiple locations in the area, and they typically hire at sixteen years old. The starting rate is around ten dollars an hour. The environment is fun and exciting and teaches important life skills for the future.
All of these jobs are great opportunities to start working in high school. Many of them have flexible hours to accommodate school and extracurricular activities. Most of the application processes can be found online and done through a computer. If students have the time, getting a job is highly encouraged and should be pursued at some of these places!
