Top Three Studying YouTubers
High school academics are challenging. Many students struggle with gaining the motivation to study and do well in school. Some ask teachers, friends, or siblings for tips. Some scour the Internet for studying “hacks.” Distressed, students turn to mindlessly watching YouTube videos while procrastinating on their work. However, the answer to their problems is located closer than they think.
There is a whole subgenre of YouTube called “Studytube” that presents information related to studying, motivation, and college admissions. These can be beneficial to view as the end of first quarter approaches and seniors continue to work on college applications. Below are my recommendations for YouTubers with the most helpful and inspiring content.
The channel with the most helpful student-related tips is studyquill. This channel features videos on note-taking, stationery, and even personal finance for students. My favorite of her videos are those about advice for each year of high school and the first year of college. Studyquill’s videos are all very high quality with concise transitions and relaxing background music. Her most popular video is about 101 things to do instead of scrolling through social media. It provides many good ideas for productive and exciting things to do with your valuable time. While the channel has not put out any new videos in a few years, the archive of content is very much worth your while.
Another channel with motivational content is UnJaded Jade. Jade creates a variety of videos related to academics and productivity. While attending a university that requires students to study abroad in a different country each semester, Jade created YouTube videos sharing advice. These can be beneficial to view for any student interested in studying abroad. There are also a series of videos about increasing your self-confidence and loving yourself. For students thinking of taking a gap year, Jade has you covered. I would recommend UnJaded Jade’s videos to anyone who needs a confidence boost or wants to try an unconventional college experience like a gap year or study abroad experience.
My absolute favorite studytuber is Ruby Granger. You may notice that Ruby shares a last name with Hermione Granger of the Harry Potter series. It is hard to think of someone who embodies the spirit of Hermione Granger better than Ruby. She produces videos related to studying and productivity. Her morning routine and night routine videos are some of the most popular she has created, as well as her series on the Victorian era.
Ruby’s channel can also be considered a Booktube channel as she creates videos detailing the books she is reading in addition to her favorite books. Ruby is currently pursuing a Masters in English Literature at Oxford University and shares vlogs of her daily life while there. She even has her own academic planner she has designed and sells on her website. I would recommend Ruby’s channel to any student who loves reading, light academia, or the Victorian era, and needs study motivation.
Studying isn’t always a fun experience, but it can be improved by seeking motivation from studytube videos. However, it is not the only solution. Be sure to make time for relaxing and spending time with friends and family; this can help avoid burnout and procrastination. Above all, remember to take time for yourself. You can’t do well if you are not feeling well. Check out the above YouTube channels and happy studying!
