FNAF Movie
For years, the franchise of Five Nights at Freddy’s has captivated people with its fun characters and intense storyline. The series spawned nine games, with the most recent being Security Breach. On October 27th, the game will get a much anticipated movie adaptation. With passionate fans following the game’s progression through the years, there are strong thoughts on the release and rumored content to come from the longstanding series.
The newest installment of the series boosted the games popularity into the mainstream once again after coming out in late 2021. Security Breach garnered a lot of the attention that has fed into the movie anticipation being so big now. “I genuinely liked the story. I love the depth, and I feel like not a lot of people pay attention to it,” says Claire Hammer, a big fan of the series.
Much of the original fan base is riled up about the film coming out. There have been controversies surrounding the adaptation. Many of the old fans question the canonical accuracy while others are just excited to finally receive a movie adaptation. After all, the fan base has been around for about ten years. When the posters were first released, many of the fans were concerned because the posters featured the main animatronics having red eyes. All fans know that they do not have red eyes and instead have black eyes, which indicate that they are possessed by a spirit. The studio did hear the fan bases’ concerns and changed their eyes. However, many fans speculate that there could be many other flaws contained in the final movie.
The series is known for having a very convoluted storyline, with more and more games produced that show more sides and tell different stories. Claire Hammer comments, “I’m definitely confused, but I’ve got some good basics. I just don’t know what is real anymore,” a sentiment shared by many other fans. Alongside the nine base games and four spin offs, the creator Scott Cawthorn has written fifteen novels based off of the game’s story. These novels are considered to be “separate canon”. This is not even counting the eleven graphic novels also produced. The movie is rumored to feature some novel-only details though, as seen through the inclusion of an important “ball pit” in the trailers.
Be sure to check out the movie after its premiere on the 27th of this month.
