In August of 2022, the Gillian family of Cypress, Texas suffered an unimaginable tragedy when they found their fourteen-year-old son, Joshua, dead in his bed due to a fentanyl overdose. Unfortunately, his story is not unique as fentanyl-related fatalities continue to rise among young people. This incident highlights the urgent need for action to combat this silent killer.

Fentanyl’s deadly influence extends far beyond individual tragedies; it has become a public health crisis in the United States and many other countries.
