Meet the Teacher: Ms. Krivensky
The new school year has brought an influx of new teachers to Apex High School. Ms. Krivensky, one of these new teachers, has taken over English II and African American Literature.
Coming to Apex High has been a change for her, and she has found she has needed to adapt to the new school layout. She notes, “So far it’s been really nice but also an adjustment because of the size. I’ve timed it, and it takes seven minutes to walk from my car to my classroom.” She comes from Southern Lee High School and brings with her seven years of teaching experience.
Despite the size of the school, Mrs. Krivensky notes that it doesn’t feel like much of a change but feels she has more freedom here, even as a teacher than in other schools. “We can go off campus here, and we never could at my old school,” she commented. She notes other helpful changes at the school like the trust in teachers at Apex High and the option to telework on optional teacher workdays.
In her free time, she loves to travel, garden, read, and entertain her fulfilling social life. She especially enjoys going to dinner and catching up with friends. She graduated from NC State and had been teaching in Sanford before coming to our school. She is a Hurricanes fan as well.
Mrs. Krivensky is easy to talk to, and is enjoying her time at our school so far. Look out for her in room 2229!
