Getting to know about Mrs. Jordan
Welcome Courtney Lott Jordan as one of our newest Healthful Living teachers and also the head women’s tennis coach. Her advice to students is “Try as many different sports, clubs, and extracurricular activities as you can. You never know the people you will come across and you might find something you enjoy that you never thought you would like.”
She is happily married with two kids named Cora who is seven years old and Bradley who is four years old. She has a hound mix dog named Rudy.
She went to East Carolina University. She has a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education with a Minor in Human Studies. She’s been teaching Physical Education and Health since 2011.
She is originally from New York and then moved to Topsail Island in the sixth grade. She likes to play golf with her husband; maybe you’ll even catch her on the beach when she is free as well.
Her biggest inspiration is her parents. Her parents inspire her to her best that she can be and become. Her parents still let her know her worth. Their advice about life is inspirational to Mrs. Jordan, having the reminder “that when life isn’t what you expect it is just the seasons and seasons always change.”
What were you like as a student?
“I think I was a good student, I kept very busy… I was a multi-sport and in the band. I was in the symphonic band and the marching band; I still kept in contact with a couple teachers.”
If you didn’t become a teacher, what do you think you would be now?
“I think I would like to have done something with Athletic Training with upper-level athletes.”
Why did you become a Healthful living teacher?
“My PE teacher in High School, Mrs.Hall. She pushed us to be our very best and to be good people.”
She is loving Apex High School and also loving her amazing students as well as loving her teaching in healthful living. One thing that she disliked was having to end her vacation soon to come to Apex earlier than others.
Welcome to the PEAK, Mrs. Jordan! We are glad to have an amazing teacher like you to join us. We hope you have wonderful and bright memories about teaching here in Apex High School.
