Along with many other seniors, I have mixed emotions about graduating. I am very excited to start a new chapter in my life, but I am also very nervous to see what my future holds. My four years at Apex High School have exceeded my expectations in preparing me for the future. I will be graduating not only from Apex High but also from the Academy of Information Technology. The skills I have learned from being a member of AOIT will be major assets in college and in the future. Being a part of the Academy has allowed me to gain knowledge in information technology as well as prepared me for the future as I got to experience mock interviews and do an internship. I am very proud of this accomplishment, and I think it will greatly benefit me in the future.

After graduation, I will be attending East Carolina University to major in interior design. ECU has always been one of my top choices because I am very familiar with it due to my sister being a student there. When I was accepted, I was so excited to follow in my sister’s footsteps but also for my own future. I chose interior design as my major because I have always had a creative mind, and I believe I will enjoy it. I took Interior Design I and II at Apex and it is still one of my favorite classes to this day. Being able to use my own creativity and imagination in my work was so much fun, and I knew I wanted to be able to in the future as well. 

Senior year was the first year I got to be a part of Newspaper. This class prepared me so well for college because I got to write many articles and receive feedback on them. I really enjoyed this class because I got to be creative with the topics of the articles and write about things I am interested in. I also liked how I got to collaborate with my classmates and write articles with them as well. I am very proud of the growth I have accomplished when writing these articles and am definitely going to miss Newspaper in the future. 

As graduation gets closer, my excitement continues to grow for college. Apex High School created a solid foundation for my future, and I know that I will miss it. Senior year has been the best year of my life, and I have created so many memories and friends that I will remember forever!
