Meet the new Spanish Teacher, Ms. Liljergren!
Monika Liljergren is a new Spanish teacher at Apex High. She spent ten years teaching in
Massachusetts and now lives in Holly Springs. She received her undergraduate degree from the
University of Massachusetts Amherst and her masters from University of Massachusetts
Q: Do you have any kids or pets?
A: I have two wonderful kids and a cat.
Q: Why did you become a teacher?
A: I love working with people. Also I really like getting people excited about learning new things.
Q: Why did you choose to teach Spanish?
A: Spanish was the first class in high school that I got to take the honors class and that really
motivated me to keep learning Spanish and keep going.
Q: How do you like Apex so far?
A: I love Apex; there is a super welcoming staff and students. If I had one thing I don’t like, it is
the super early start to the day.
Q: Do you have any pet peeves?
A: I would have to say people not putting their shopping carts back; that really bothers me.
Q: How were you as a student?
A: Completely average.
Q: What was your most memorable moment as a teacher?
A: The first thing that comes to mind is getting whacked in the leg with a Pinata stick during a

A: Right now it is pretty easy, but later on it will be moderately challenging I would say.
